2nd Kyu Red Belt
Prerequisite amount of classes: 60 to 80 class minimum to receive your Gold Stripe (Attendance Stripe)
This is the material you need to test from 3rd Kyu Purple to 2nd Kyu Red. At this point you will start to earn different color stripes for the material you have perfected. Stripe testing can be done several different ways.
- The week prior to a testing date we will pre-test/stripe test the entire class.
- If a student shows that he/she knows the material and continuously demonstrates the technique with the proper attitude he/she may be awarded a stripe right on the spot or given at the end of class.
- A student can earn stripes faster by attending bootcamps.
- A student can earn a stripe during a private lesson.
Note: 2nd Degree Black Belt and above are only allowed to stripe unless special permission is given by Master Greg Hussey
You will be required to Achieve 5 Total Stripes in order to test
- Attendance: Gold Stripe
- Ideology, Protocol, & Philosophy; Knowledge; Tie Obi: White Stripe
- Physical Fitness: Silver Stripe
- Kata: Blue Stripe
- Self Defense: Purple Stripe
- 2 on 1 Sparring (Requirement but does not have Stripe)
- Random Review: All previous Katas, plus All previous Basics, Takedowns, and Grappling techniques (Requirement but does not have Stripe)
